NOLA Property Deal Creates Largest Contiguous Riverfront In U.S.

New Orleans, Louisiana

A property deal between the city of New Orleans and the Port of New Orleans is creating the largest contiguous riverfront in the country.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced the deal Monday that passes to the City two wharves previously under the Port's authority in exchange for moving Public Belt Railroad property to the control of the Port of New Orleans.

The result is that with the wharf obstacles removed, Crescent Park will be connected with full public access all the way to one side of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center once the riverfront area has been redeveloped.
