An effort to cover an anticipated budget deficit next year may involve selling the St. Tammany Parish courthouse building in Covington.
The parish needs to make up $18 million that won't be there next year after two sales tax renewal measures recently failed with voters.
Right now all that is left functioning in the 1960s era courthouse building in Covington is the 911 call center and the office of emergency preparedness.
