Farmers Can Apply For Federal Funding From Floods

Torrential Rains Bring Historic Floods To Southern Louisiana

Farmers who suffered damage from spring and summer floods of last year can apply for emergency aid.

Eligible growers can visit the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry website to file an application. The grant program will help with financial assistance to producers with farming operations.

Aid will only be provided to farmers in the 51 parishes that were declared disaster areas by FEMA. It applies to where operations are made, not where a farmer lives.

The grant is a 100 percent program and not a loan program.
