A California man is behind bars in St. Tammany Parish after authorities said he smuggled marijuana into the state.
The sheriff's office announced Wednesday the arrest of the 23-year-old suspect, Donald Roots-Scott Jr. Authorities said they pulled him over on I-12 Tuesday for speeding and discovered two-pounds of cannabis while searching his vehicle.
Cops said he admitted that he was moving the dope bound for Mississippi.
He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish jail on charges that include possession of drugs with intent to distribute.
