Slidell has a new officer in training to protect the streets.
The Slidell Police Department just introduced their newest task force member, K-9 Kano. The four-legged crime fighter is a two-year-old German Shepherd who comes from the Netherlands.
Kano and his partner Officer Morris are going through a training program on how to search for drugs and criminals.
Kano's first day of duty is expected to come in September.
