Legal Fight Resumes Over Governor's LGBT Order

The legal battle continues over Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards's executive orders signed last year that would have protected gay and transgender state workers and contractors.

State Attorney General Jeff Landry opposed the orders, labeling them executive overreach.  A court hearing was held on the matter yesterday before a three-judge panel of the First Circuit Court of Appeals, months after a lower court judge ruled the governor's orders were unconstitutional and would in effect create new state law.

No word on when to expect a ruling from the appeals court.
