Some Juvenile Offenders Could Get Warning Rather Arrest

New Orleans police will be getting the option of handing out warnings to some juvenile offenders rather than arresting them.

The New Orleans Advocate reports the New Orleans City Council approved a measure yesterday geared toward steering young people accused of truancy, a curfew violation or first-time marijuana possession away from the justice system.

They would get a warning, while other juveniles deemed a threat to themselves or others would face arrest.
