Officials will meet today to discuss what the future triggers should be for a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans.
The mayor's office says the criteria remains the threat of a Category 3 hurricane, with no other official triggers in place. However, state and local officials are scheduled to meet today to take part in readiness scenarios with other factors taken into consideration, especially those with any forecast for heavy rain.
Part of the city suffered extensive flooding early last month as the result of torrential rainfall and pumps and turbines that didn't work.
