The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in the backyard of a residence in Avondale.
Sheriff Joseph Lopinto says deputies found the victim around 8 a.m. yesterday when they responded to a shots-fired call on Church Street. He died at the scene after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
No suspect or motive information was immediately available.
