There's a move afoot to privatize the investigation of fender-bender accidents in New Orleans.
The firm, On Scene Services, is being tapped by NOPD officials and members of the Landrieu administration for the task. A contract still has to be negotiated.
The company would utilize off-duty and reserve officers, thus freeing on-duty cops from the task of investigating minor traffic crashes.
