A former Hammond police chief will be receiving a sizeable financial settlement from the city related to his firing two years ago.
Roddy Devall was terminated in 2015 after an investigation into his controversial decision to issue a press release concerning a police officer's arrest.
The Daily Star reports Devall sued, but has reached a settlement where he will receive more than $800,000, a commission and a badge showing him retired from the force.
