Family Asks For Privacy After Maxwell Gruver Death

The East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney and LSU officials say the family of Maxwell Gruver is asking for privacy following the LSU freshman's death this week.

A statement released on behalf of the family read in part:

The parents of Maxwell Gruver are asking the media, solicitors, and others to please refrain from contacting them or members of their family. They do not wish to be contacted or make a statement. Please respect their privacy at this time and please give them time to grieve. This is a difficult time for everyone involved.

The statement went on to say that any updates to the investigation will come from LSU or the District Attorney and the family "will speak when they are ready".

Gruver died Wednesday night after being brought to a local hospital from the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house.
