U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy is not getting the support of Governor John Bel Edwards as he pushes for approval of his health care bill to replace Obamacare.
Edwards contends the legislation would result in the elimination of insurance coverage for 430,000 Louisiana residents enrolled in the state's Medicaid expansion program.
The governor says as it stands now, the uninsured rate in the state has dropped to nearly ten-percent, and that Cassidy's bill would undo the progress made.
