Efforts continue to determine the cause of a house fire in the Irish Channel on Monday that has now turned deadly.
One of the two people injured in the blaze on Soraparu Street, 77-year-old Corrine Lang, has died at a Baton Rouge hospital after suffering smoke inhalation and second-degree burns to over 50-percent of her body.
Her 87-year-old husband was also treated for smoke inhalation and suffered minor burns to his hands feet. He's since been treated and released.
