Boil Water Advisory Lifted For East Bank

UPDATE: The advisory was lifted shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday. The original story is below.

Another problem at the New Orleans Sewage and Water Board is being blamed for a boil-water advisory impacting all of the city's residents east of the Mississippi River.

It took effect yesterday after a fairly new turbine failed, dropping water pressure for almost a half-hour until backup power from Entergy kicked in.

There's no word on what caused the turbine to fail, though it is now working again, or when the boil-water advisory will be lifted.
