The murder trial of Travis Boys will get underway late next month after a judge found him competent to stand trial in the killing of a New Orleans police officer.
A hearing on the matter was held yesterday.
The 35-year-old Boys is charged with shooting Officer Daryle Holloway to death in June 2015 while escaping a police SUV he was being transported in.
His trial is scheduled to get underway October 23.
