Family: Fire Chief's Wife Had Been Threatened Prior To Her Death

St. Tammany Parish authorities are still investigating the July shooting death of Nanette Krentel. She's the wife of a North Shore fire chief whose body was discovered in the couple's burning Lacombe home that the State Fire Marshal's Office says was intentionally set.

Chief Steve Krentel was cleared as a suspect, and family members told interviewers in Iowa she had been threatened by a brother-in-law who believed the couple was in part responsible for him going to prison.

However, ankle monitor records led authorities to clear Brian Krentel in the shooting and fire.
