Louisiana is seeking to take a number of drug manufacturers to court for orchestrating a campaign to flood the state with highly addictive opioids, all in the name of beefing up their profits.
A lawsuit was filed yesterday in Baton Rouge naming more than a dozen drug companies as defendants.
Other states and local governments have filed similar suits recently, citing the rising death toll from opioid abuse.
