A Kenner mom is facing a second-degree murder charge following her arrest in the death of one of her four children.
Police say Twyena Thomas' two-year-old son, Chase, died over the weekend. Investigators say the toddler, who was found dead Saturday night at the family's apartment, had been beaten, tied up and allowed to go hungry, his weight only 15 pounds.
Thomas faces a mandatory life sentence if convicted as charged.
