Landrieu Defends Nate Curfew Order

The city of New Orleans is obviously pleased that though it was prepared for the worst, it got the best it could hope for from Hurricane Nate.

Even so, there has been some criticism of Mayor Mitch Landrieu's early decision to order a curfew Saturday night that began at 7 p.m. Some events were cancelled and businesses closed, only to have the curfew lifted at 8:30 when it was obvious that Nate's impact would be very slight on the Big Easy.

He said Sunday he stands by his decision given the storm threat that Nate posed at the time of his curfew order.
