Election Day Turnout Predicted To Be Low

Run-Off Senate Election Between Mary Landrieu And Bill Cassidy

Louisiana's secretary of state doesn't expect voters to be flocking to the polls this Saturday.  Tom Schedler says the turnout could be a record low.

He's predicting only 15% of the state's registered voters will cast ballots.

Among items on the statewide ballot is the race for state treasurer, a vote on three constitutional amendments and, in New Orleans, voters are electing a new mayor to succeed term-limited Mitch Landrieu.
