NOPD Cops To Carry Opioid Antidote

City leaders say New Orleans police officers will soon be armed with an antidote that saves the lives of those suffering from opioid overdoses.

More people died in the Big Easy last year of drug overdoses than from gun violence.

So, the Landrieu administration is opting to address the opioid crisis at home by equipping officers with naloxone, an antidote that can be administered to save the victim of an opioid overdose.
