Lightning is being blamed for starting a fire Sunday morning that left a Slidell home with heavy damage.
The blaze erupted just before nine o'clock after a witness told firefighters of seeing a bolt of lightning blowing a hole in the roof.
Flames heavily damaged the attic, while smoke from the fire did nothing to help the interior of the vacant, eight-thousand-square-foot structure on Lakeshore Boulevard.
