Reaction is coming in on the death of music legend Fats Domino. Harry Connick Jr. tweeted:

Domino died Wednesday at 89. His daughter says he was surrounded by family and friends.

Domino was known for his songs "Blueberry Hill," "Ain't That a Shame" and "Walkin' To New Orleans." He was honored with a Grammy for Lifetime Achievement in 1987. Rolling Stone listed Fats Domino as the "25th Greatest Recording Artist of All Time."

Domino was born Antoine Domino Jr. in New Orleans Lower 9th Ward on February 26, 1928. He was a Creole French musician who pioneered a boogie-woogie style of piano playing that would become the bedrock of rock.

John Lennon once told People that Domino's "Aint That a Shame" was the first song he ever learned how to play.
