Governor John Bel Edwards and his wife, Donna, are on a visit to Puerto Rico that is expected to last until tomorrow.
Both are expected to arrive this morning to assist in the recovery of the U.S. territory that was devastated by deadly Hurricane Irma. The governor is expected to offer his advice on recovery based on Louisiana's run-in with powerful hurricanes.
Upwards of 150 members of the Louisiana National Guard are currently in Puerto Rico assisting in recovery efforts.
