A St. Tammany Parish district fire chief who lost his wife in a shooting and fire is now the target of a civil service board investigation.
Steve Krentel learned yesterday that the panel will be looking into a complaint of an extra-marital affair with a subordinate, destroying district property and intimidation.
His wife, Nanette, died in July of a gunshot wound to the head right before fire raged through the couple's home destroying it. Her death was ruled a homicide, but no one has been arrested.
