Louisiana politicians are weighing on the tax reform plan unveiled by Republicans in the House Thursday.
According to a fact sheet released by the GOP, the bill is set to cut the corporate tax rate from 35% to 20%, reduce some individual tax rates, and increase the standard deduction for individuals and families. 401(k) retirement plans appear unchanged, and the tax rate for the wealthiest bracket of Americans remains the same.
House Majority Whip Steve Scalise appeared on Fox & Friends Thursday morning.
Sen. John Kennedy tweeted:
“This is an important step forward in our effort to reform the outdated tax code,” said Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy, a Republican. “I will continue to work with my Senate colleagues, as a member of the Finance Committee, to ensure we bring tax relief to working families.”
