An investigation continues into the shooting of a suspect by a Jefferson Parish sheriff's detective.
JPSO officials say 20-year-old Demone Carto of Harvey was approached by two detectives Saturday night who they say was involved in a drug transaction. Carto is said to have dropped some marijuana and then pointed a gun at the deputies.
That's when one of the deputies fired three shots at him, hitting him once, leaving Carto hospitalized in stable condition.
