Traffic flow could be improving sooner rather than later for drivers on I-10 East. It's been a problem for days now due to damage caused to the High Rise bridge by a tire fire.
Efforts have been underway to get the problem resolved as soon as possible, especially ahead of the Thanksgiving travel period.
In an update yesterday afternoon, state transportation officials say all lanes of the interstate should open prior to Thanksgiving, perhaps as early as today.
