Former Republican lawmaker John Schroder is now on the job as the state treasurer of Louisiana. He took the oath of office last night in a ceremony held in Kenner.
Schroder received 56% of the vote in the November 18th special election to fill the seat vacated by John Kennedy, who earlier won election to the U.S. Senate.
He has pledged to be a watchdog of the state's finances.
