Federal officials and the Coast Guard are investigating the death of a drillship worker on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. The deceased person's name has not been released.
FOX 8/WVUE reports the victim died of injuries sustained over the weekend on the rig located just over 170 miles south of Port Fourchon.
So far, there's no word on the cause of the accident or other details as to what happened other than pipe handling operations were underway at the time.
