FOX 8's Shelby Latino: Snow Is Possible Friday

(FOX 8/WVUE) The cold and wet weather continues today with more cold rain and temperatures remaining in the 40s.

An area of low pressure will move across the Gulf of Mexico on Friday as a cold front comes down from our north. This combination could allow for the rain to change over to snow Friday morning.

The best chances will be for areas north of Lake Pontchartrain.

There is also the potential for some flakes to fall in the River Parishes. We are expecting mostly cold rain on the South Shore at this time, but a few flakes are not totally out of the question.

Multiple days of freezing morning temperatures are expected north and west of the Lake Saturday-Monday mornings. A hard freeze is possible on Saturday morning for the North Shore. South of the lake temperatures may approach freezing in the metro area. Stay tuned for what freeze precautions to take in the coming days.
