An investigation into a reported accidental shooting death in Kenner early Christmas Eve leads to the arrest of the victim's girlfriend.
Authorities had been led to believe that 25-year-old Akoya Skeith was shot in the abdomen when he removed a gun from his waistband. But, the medical examiner determined that Skeith didn't fire the weapon.
Police say 29-year-old Dominique Wix shot Skeith and has been charged with manslaughter.
