There's a new deadline in Louisiana for enforcement of the federal REAL ID law.

The Department of Homeland Security has approved the state's request to delay enforcement until October 11th. Enforcement was to have begun the 22nd of this month.

REAL IDs are a more secure form of driver's licenses that travelers will need, unless they have a current passport, to fly in the U.S. or internationally when enforcement begins at the state's airports.
