Former New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin is not getting any legal sympathy from federal prosecutors in his attempt to have his corruption conviction tossed, as well as his ten-year sentence.
Nagin was convicted four years ago on 20 federal counts.
The New Orleans Advocate reports U.S. attorneys filed a 48-page objection to Nagin's bid for freedom yesterday that was based on another bribery case that led to the release of former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and former Congressman William Jefferson of New Orleans.
