(FOX 8/WVUE) Several parishes are asking their residents to conserve water as the Winter Weather affects their water systems.
Residents, businesses and industry are advised against running water overnight and other non-essential uses of water until further notice.
The parishes ability to treat water and to keep pressure prevents the parish from having to issue a boil advisory and allows the government to have water for services such as fire protection
Parishes that need to conserve:
- St John The Baptist Parish
- St James Parish
- Jefferson Parish
- Plaquemines Parish
- St. Bernard Parish
There are boil water advisories in:
- St John The Baptist Parish
- Parts of Lafourche Parish
- East Bank of New Orleans
- East Bank of Jefferson Parish
- Boil water advisory has been issued for customers below Presque Isle along Hwy. 24, Hwy. 55, Hwy. 56, Klondyke Road, and Sarah Road including the communities of Grand Bois, Bourg, Montegut, Chauvin, Little Caillou, and Cocodrie.
