New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu is calling for water conservation.
During a news conference today, he asked residents to watch how much water they use over the next few days.
Frozen pipes that cause leaks are putting a strain on the city's water system. Home owners are urged to check for leaks several times a day.
As of Friday night, the east bank of Orleans Parish remains under a boil water advisory.
