The former chief deputy of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is finding out the hard way that he's not above the law.
A federal jury in New Orleans found Craig Taffaro guilty of tax evasion Monday. He was convicted of falsely reporting income and expenses from a side business he operated for six years with then-sheriff Newell Normand.
Taffaro is facing up to 46 years in prison when sentenced April 8th.
