Edwards Speaks Optimistically About Trump's Infrastructure Proposal

Torrential Rains Bring Historic Floods To Southern Louisiana

Democratic Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards is out with some positive reaction to President Trump's $1.5 trillion plan to improve and repair the nation's infrastructure.

He was among eight governors who met with Trump yesterday morning at the White House.

In evaluating the president's proposal, Edwards says Trump's plan to dole out upward of $50 billion in block grants to states to meet rural infrastructure needs is of utmost importance to Louisiana.

Edwards did note in an interview with Daily Report that the funding mechanism used will be a challenge for cash-strapped Louisiana.
