Arthur Robinson, the man long known in New Orleans as "Mr. Okra" is dead at the age of 75. His stepson, Teddy Stansbury, confirmed that he died yesterday.
Robinson drew national fame as a street vendor of produce, driving around in his brightly painted Ford F-150 while singing out the praises of his okra and other vegetables and fruits over a loudspeaker hooked up in his vehicle.
