A legal turf war is at an end over who will represent that state in its battle against opioid manufacturers and distributors.
With the blessing of Governor Edwards, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals filed suit last September against 17 firms, blaming them for the state's opioid crisis. The decision irked Attorney General Jeff Landry.
At a court hearing yesterday, an agreement was reached to have Landry's office take over representation in the state's case.
