Grace King Students Arrested For "Future School Shooter" Photo

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said Thursday it had arrested two Grace King High School students on terrorizing.

The students had posted to social media a picture of one of the students standing next to a whiteboard with "Future School Shooter" written above him.

Investigators say after discussing the Parkland, Florida school shootings, one of the students told the other he looked like a potential school shooter. That student then posed for the picture and the other later shared the photo.

School officials notified the JPSO of the post Thursday morning. The students admitted they took the photo, but denied planning any attacks. A search of their homes found nothing that would indicate either was planning a school shooting.

"We would like to reiterate that we will take any threat of violence made toward our schools seriously. We will investigate every instance to the fullest," said the JPSO on Facebook. "Our children deserve to have safe schools, and in conjunction with school system, the Sheriff's Office will do everything in its power to continue to make that a reality."
