The price tag for a hunting or fishing license could rise significantly in the future. Jack Montoucet, secretary for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries told the Press Club of Baton Rouge yesterday that a proposal calls for a 42-percent increase in the price of a basic fishing license, and a 33-percent hike for a hunting license. He says the agency has lost 65-million-dollars since 2009 due to state budget cuts.
