Man taken to hospital by shooter

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Treme early Sunday.

Police say the incident happened around 3:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Dorgenois Street.

According to police, two men were inside of a vehicle when the shooter says he saw the victim reach for something.

The suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Cardero Davis then shot the victim and drove him to University Medical Center.

The victim later died at the hospital.

Police say Davis turned himself in to police at the First District Station.

The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
