The real estate website Neighborhood Scout is out with its 2018 list of the Top 100 Most Dangerous Cities in the U.S.
Five of those cities are in Louisiana, with final, non-preliminary data from the FBI for the year 2016 used in formulating the list.
Ranked as the most dangerous city in the nation is Monroe, and that's based on the number of violent crimes per one thousand residents. Alexandria is ranked eighth, New Orleans 58th, Shreveport 84th and Baton Rouge 86th.
