Louisiana's special legislative session on the budget is winding down to an apparent failure.
That would mean the state will begin the next fiscal year in the red by hundreds of millions of dollars.
Republicans and Democrats in the House haven't been able to agree on much of anything, and as of last night, not a single piece of legislation had cleared the lower chamber for consideration by the Senate.
The session is scheduled to end Wednesday but may adjourn later today.
