A federal grand jury in New Orleans is reportedly investigating Jack Strain, the former longtime sheriff of St. Tammany Parish.
NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune reports the probe is linked to an inmate work-release facility that Strain privatized before leaving office.
Strain's successor, Randy Smith, terminated the contract with St. Tammany Workforce Solutions in July 2016 and brought the work-release program in-house, shutting it down later.
