A bill is making its way through the Louisiana Legislature that would allow students to wear bulletproof backpacks.
It cleared the Senate Monday on a 34-2 vote and is headed to the House for consideration.
The backpacks are being viewed as possible protection from a gunman, like the one that killed 17 people at a Parkland, Florida high school in February.
