A tourist from Europe is hospitalized in New Orleans with a confirmed case of the measles. State health officials are working to determine who the man has had contact with since traveling to Louisiana.
Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that is easily spread to unvaccinated individuals.
The patient was hospitalized over the weekend and had attended some public events since arriving in the Big Easy late last week.
