The Max Gruver Act is headed to the full Louisiana Senate after clearing a committee Tuesday.
The House bill is named after the Georgia teen who died last September after registering a blood-alcohol level of .495 during a fraternity hazing at LSU.
The measure proposes that anyone involved in a deadly hazing incident faces up to five years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine.
